You’ve heard the saying ‘There’s more than one way to skin a cat’. That is often true for dental treatment. We strive to provide dental care that is catered to our patients’ esthetic and healthcare needs while working within each person’s insurance and financial abilities. Some treatment needs will require a referral to a dental specialist such as and endodontist, orthodontist, oral surgeon, periodontist or pedodontist.
cleanings and exams
The American Dental Association recommends that each person receive regular dental cleanings and exams at intervals based on their unique needs.
Most patients benefit from receiving a dental cleaning twice per year, whereas some patients need to be cleaned every 4 months or every 3 months. Some patients will need to be seen alternating between their general dental team and a periodontal specialist.
Fillings
We offer both traditional amalgam fillings (silver) and composite resin (white). Both types of materials have been used and studied for years. There are pros and cons for each. Please let us know if you have a question or preference. We will be happy to discuss which materials would perform best for your needs. Some insurance policies may not cover the composite resin filings as they consider them to be esthetic.
Crowns, Bridges and Veneers
Crowns and bridges are wonderful restorations that can totally change the appearance of your smile. A crown may be treatment planned to cover a tooth to protect it from further decay or fracture or as a way to fix esthetic problems (shape, color, and alignment).
A dental bridge is a section of crowns milled or cast together as one piece. Bridges are used to fill in spaces where teeth are missing.
Dentures and Partials
We make conventional, immediate and partial dentures to replace missing teeth. We can repair and reline your denture or partial in office or send it to our lab for more extensive work. We will be happy to discuss the difference in each type of denture and what materials may work best for your smile.
Bleaching
We make custom bleaching trays and are providers of Opalescence dental bleach. We will be happy to answer any bleaching questions you may have. For extensive staining, bleaching may be recommended prior to veneers or crown and bridge work.
Facial Fillers
We offer a limited amount of facial esthetic treatments such as Juvederm and Botox and we carefully select our cases. We will gladly answer any questions you may have about facial fillers.
Extractions
While we prefer to save each tooth, sometimes that isn’t possible. We perform both simple and surgical extractions and often refer wisdom teeth and complex cases to an oral surgeon.
